I don't have too much in terms of updates since the RJ in Education Community of Practice doesn't meet in March and will meet again in April and May again, but a few things to note that I shared with the Coordinating Committee:

  • Here is the link to the Restorative Justice in Education Community of Practice Information and Interest form, feel free to share! Here is the bitly a well in case the embedded link gives you any issues: https://bit.ly/RJEDCoP

  • Since it is mostly education practitioners we meet 6 times throughout the school year (Oct., Nov., Jan., Feb., April, and May)

  • I promoted the RJCO membership to the community in February and will continue to keep that on the agenda

  • We are in the process of asset mapping and creating a "directory" of educators and CBOs with educational programming to support an educator network. I am currently also obtaining permission from the participants to share their contact info

  • We are also deciding on a resource "repository" for all things related to RJ in education (classroom lessons, training resources, policy language, etc.). I have compiled an ongoing Restorative Justice in Education Resource Guide and have gotten feedback and additional resource suggestions from the Community of Practice and a Workgroup I facilitate. Always open for more suggestions if y'all have any. Here is the bitly to the resource as well: https://bit.ly/RPTrainingResources

  • We currently have about 30 people signed up and each session we have about 10-15 participants. We are continuing to spread the word and might also add some additional meeting time after the school day for teachers and other educators who cannot attend the 1:00-2:30 time each month.
