When the Criminal Justice Commission administered its first round of grants for the Restorative Justice Grant Program, the Restorative Justice Coalition of Oregon began facilitating a meeting of practitioners from grantee programs to build community, share lessons learned, and participate in skills building as the respective programs developed.
The Restorative Justice Practitioner Cohort continues to support practitioners by providing a space to learn from leaders in the field on a variety of different topics ranging from facilitation skills to program development to advocacy. The topics discussed at the Practitioner Cohort are primarily focused on programs that operate as alternatives to the criminal legal system; however, all practitioners are welcome and RJCO invites recommendations about future meeting topics.
The RJ Practitioner Cohort meets once every two months (on the RJ Café off months). The meeting is facilitated by RJCO Coordinator with RJCO Coordinating Committee members partnering with the Coordinator to identify presenters and topics. If you are interested in joining the RJ Practitioner Cohort or you would like to propose a meeting topic, please reach out to rjco.info@gmail.com.
